I have been with the agency for over seven years. Throughout my time here, I have worked in Match Support and in Partnership Development before taking the leadership position in August of 2007. I have also served as a Big Brother for two separate children during my time with the agency. Improving the lives of children is a mission that is close to my heart, and I have dedicated the last 15 years to working for organizations that do just that. In addition, I currently serve as the President of the Optimist club of Lynchburg. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Jackie and our 4 year old son Lucas. ash@bigcva.org 434-473-7335 (direct)
I have been with BBBS for three years, starting out in Match Support and then taking on Marketing responsibilities about a year ago. Working with children is my passion, and I have been serving children in some form or another over the last 10 years. I have worked in the Juvenile Justice system, facilitated substance abuse programs, advocated for children with special needs and coached high school track. Although my role here is part-time, I am a full-time mother to my two beautiful children, Ryleigh(4) and Coleman(2), and wife to my loving husband of 5 years, Jeff. keena@bigcva.org 434-473-7329 (direct)
I have been with Big Brothers Big Sisters for almost two years. Starting as an intern, working as a Match Support Specialist and now as the Program Director, I love the mission of BBBS. I have had the honor of facilitating change and watching children’s lives be impacted through the work of this agency and its volunteers. jenna@bigcva.org
I began working for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Virginia in August of 1997 as Office Manager. I now also perform the Customer Relations functions, and welcome calls if I can be of any assistance in enrolling a child or volunteer. I never realized what an impact this agency has on the community until I became a part of the BBBS family. In fact, I became a Big Sister soon after starting and was matched at Leesville Road Elementary for six years. It is a true joy to see the difference our volunteers can make in the life of a child, and to have been lucky enough to have experienced it myself. linda@bigcva.org 434-473-7326 (direct)
My role with the agency is to bring the perfect Volunteer and the perfect Little together. This relationship brings joy into the lives of both individuals, and is what I find most enjoyable. When a volunteer and a child meet for the first time, and the happiness and joy shows on their faces, I realize that what I do really makes a difference. The good thing is that I get to experience this over and over with each match meeting. "Everyone can be great…..because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love"-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. sharon@bigcva.org 434-473-7328 (direct)
I am so excited to be here! In addition to working on a Masters of Education, my husband and I are raising our daughter (7) and son (1). They are the joy of my life and an absolute blessing! Even though my children, my job and my school work keep me busy, my family and I love visiting local orchards and farms when we have time. My husband is a chef and we love trying new things. Luckily, we were blessed with a daughter that has a palate like our own and rarely turns down a culinary adventure–the verdict is still out on our son. I interned last year with Big Brothers Big Sisters and believe strongly in our mission and the good work that we do here. jessica@bigcva.org 434-473-7330 (direct)
I am thrilled to be a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters and I cannot wait to get more involved in the local community. My husband and I are relatively new to the area and it has been a joy getting to know our new home, especially attending local festivals and enjoying Virginia’s beautiful fall weather. I am currently working on a Masters of Business and in my free time I like to go camping and hiking, spend time with family and friends, and try my hand at photography. I have grown to love the Lynchburg area especially the children and families here and that is why I am so excited to be a part of this agency. becky@bigcva.org 434-473-7332 (direct)
